Sports Odds API Latency Benchmark — July 2026
Independent measurements of the 11 odds feeds in this run: the direct sportsbook APIs (Pinnacle, Sportradar, ODDIN.GG) and 8 third-party odds APIs (PinnWire, OddsRadarWire, OddiWire, FanLine Wire, PinnOdds, PinnAPI, SharpOddz, BoltOdds).
In the July 2026 run, measured from US-East (AWS us-east-1), the lowest line-change latency across all 11 feeds was Pinnacle (Official API (direct, commercial)) at 143 ms p50 / 275 ms p95 over 8,338 observed line changes. Line-change latency is the time from a sportsbook changing a price to that price appearing in the API. Lower is better.

Best value — unlimited real-time odds
Only providers that publish a price for an unlimited real-time plan are ranked, and only where the measured line-change p95 is 1,000 ms or better: a feed that takes more than a second to show a price move cannot be used for in-play alerts or trading, so a cheap price on it is not a value claim. Priced feeds excluded on latency alone: none. Priced feeds excluded because the tier does not carry every book: none. Value score = line-change p95 (ms) × monthly price ($) ÷ 1,000. Lower is better: it rewards being both fast and cheap, and penalises either being slow or expensive. Quote-only and capped plans are excluded because their true cost is unknown.

Green rows: fastest feed per sportsbook (by line-change p95). Response time is request→full JSON for REST/SSE handshakes; not applicable to AMQP push. Unlimited real-time push is the advertised monthly price of the cheapest self-serve plan that includes an unmetered WebSocket or SSE stream of live line changes (no daily/monthly cap, no credit or stream-hour metering, no league/market scope limit; add-ons counted). "—" means no compliant plan: REST-only (The Odds API, OddsBlaze, Sportsbook API), credit- or stream-hour metered (TheRundown, Odds-API.net, ParlayAPI), pre-match only at every push tier (Odds-API.net, Odds Engine), or quote-only (Sportradar, OpticOdds, Unabated, OddsJam, LSports, OddsMatrix, FairPlay, OddsPapi). scope-limited marks a published price whose tier does not carry every book the vendor advertises; the row states the scope under the price and is excluded from the value ranking rather than scaled into an invented figure. Live in-play marks whether the feed carries odds while an event is running: Live in-play line changes, Pre-match for feeds that stop at kick-off, or Neither for products that carry no odds feed at all (props, picks or parlay services). Try without signup: a public demo key or open endpoint lets you pull live odds before creating an account. Value ranking eligibility: a priced feed is ranked only if its measured line-change p95 is 1,000 ms or better and its tier carries every book the vendor advertises — a cheap price on a feed that cannot track a line move, or that covers a fraction of the books, is not a value claim. How to read this
- Line-change latency is the number that matters for trading, arbitrage and line-move alerts. We detect a price change at the sportsbook with an independent reference probe, then time how long until the same change is visible in each provider's feed.
- Response time is plain HTTP speed. A fast response can still carry stale odds; that's why it is shown separately.
- Error rate counts timeouts (>10 s), 5xx and malformed payloads. A fast feed with a high error rate is not a fast feed.
- Push feeds (WebSocket / SSE / AMQP) are structurally faster than polled REST. We publish both, labelled, rather than hiding the polling interval.
